shopping du jour

So I almost purchased a silver sequined blazer, but this Chanel-esque jacket caught my eye and I bought it instead. Now I'm just trying to figure out whether I "NEED" it or not.

Update: The jacket has been returned, oh well.

I bought more scarves! I got a bright lilac one and a steel blue one for colour, but I want to get another black scarf and a grey one as well because they're staples and I wear a scarf practically every day. I got these scarves at $7.50 CAD a piece from F21! They're 100% viscose and drape quite nicely. Talk about dirt cheap.

Lately, I've been looking for a light foundation that has a nice, dewy finish and I finally found it! I love Laura Mercier products and swear by them. I know the line is a tad pricey but personally, I spare no expense when it comes to what I put on my face (only the best!). This illuminating tinted moisturizer is no exception. It makes my skin glow and I absolutely LOVE it.

This might sound silly, but my shopping philosophy when it came to things I wasn't sure if I needed or wanted that badly was to try and wait it out for awhile, and if I was still thinking about it after a week, I'd go and get it. If they still had the item in my size or (better yet) on sale, then I love saying it was meant to be LOL

Was it love at first sight? If not, but you still like it a lot, think about all the outfit combos you could make with the jacket. And if you're STILL iffy.. I say let it go. You could always put the money towards something you know you'll fall in love with! :)

i like it, but it's one of those things that you could only pair off with certain things. if you don't LOVE it, and are second-guessing.. i say return it :P

btw where did you get your lashes from? they are fab :)

I want to try that tinted moisturizer now.. but that'll wait till the weekend.. work all week!!

At first site the jacket is quite stunning.. but if you are second guessing yourself, maybe you should return it for something you know you LOVE!... but still $40 isn't that pricy....

Hope you're having a great week Nicole!!

Love & Aloha,

First, I just have to say thank you so, so, so much for your sweet comments, Nicole! Honestly they were the most wonderful thing to wake up to this morning. Your words are so incredibly kind and literally made me smile from ear to ear - still smiling, by the way. Thank you, thank you, thnk you!

Now, the jacket...the boucle aesthetic is heavenly. Before I even scrolled past the picture I couldn't help but to think Chanel. The detailing...love! I'd say that it's definitely more "hoity toity" looking than the typical blazer, and will add an air of luxury to your entire demeanor - if that's not the look you're going for, return it. Usually when I begin second-guessing a purchase it simply wasn't meant to be.

The scarves on the other hand are to die for! The colors of both of them work so well with your skintone; though I love the lilac the most! Scarves that are pretty, comfortable, and drape nicely are hard to come by - loving these!! :)

If you are thinking of returning it, it's usually the first sign that you are not in love with it...

I agree with Anya--if it doesn't feel right to keep it, you should return it.

Can't return at F21! Can only exchange or get store credit... Plus, it's aaaaaaaaall the way at Metro. So just keep it! ;) It's a timeless piece yo.

i agree with lisa and anya. but for $40....
my philosophy is that i think "will i be sad or think about it non-stop if i don't get it?"
